Explanation of Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) restrictions and conditions

Interstate licensees may work in Tasmania under their home state occupational licence provided they notify CBOS, meet consumer protection requirements and only work within the scope of their home state licence. Once CBOS is notified, the licensee’s home state licence number will appear on this register with the following conditions:

  • Notified but not Validated - The interstate licensee can commence work in Tasmania, however, CBOS is waiting for confirmation of information concerning their home state licence.
  • Validated - The interstate licensee’s information has been confirmed by their home state – the licensee may continue to work in Tasmania provided they maintain their home state licence and any consumer protections required in Tasmania for their licence type.

Note - Should an interstate licensee no longer appear on this register, their notification is not valid and they are not authorised to work in Tasmania.
